Nail Lounge & Spa

  • The owners of the Nail Lounge & Spa wanted to create a comfortable, modern and stylish environment for their customers, while establishing a brand in Brighton's busy town centre.

Over 5 weeks, Rocket Projects transformed the space. The result is a bold, unique retail space that invites customers to sit back and relax.

It was the finishing touches that set this project apart from other similar spaces in Brighton, such as the subtle, colour-changing mood lighting installed on floating ceiling rafts, upholstered panels and bespoke joinery.

We began with a complete strip-out, and then a re-installation of the electrics & heating. An entire new glazed shop-front was installed, including a glass door and security-rated roller shutter.

The manicure stations were created using bespoke joinery in the form of a benching system, with upholstered panels attached to the wall behind the nail technician's seat. Corian shelving was also custom-built to hold the various nail varnishes.

The reception desk and seating was commissioned by the client. The seating matches the theme of the manicure stations, with a bench & upholstered back rest. The desk is curved, with different levels, and was crafted from dark wood to contrast with the rest of the space.

Bottles of nail varnish sit in a bespoke Perspex feature display and each column is fitted upright above a low-height wall, to create a break between the reception and the rest of the salon. This not only creates a clever storage solution, but makes a design feature out of the central product to the business.

Full decoration of the space was carried out, with the majority of the space painted a bright white, and one feature wall painted the salon's signature purple, to match the upholstery and lighting.

Hard-wearing vinyl flooring was laid and specialist furniture installed, such as pedicure chairs, manicure desks, and signage was commissioned for the shop front to complete the project.
