British Gas

  • This project was developed from an initial idea from British Gas, who needed a way to train and inform their staff on new products and services. A centrally located site in Leicester was chosen to be redeveloped. It would incorporate a presentation, exhibition and event space, giving the company a fantastic new learning environment for their staff.

The space had to be totally multi-functional, with areas for presentations, meetings and conferences, as well as places to relax. It also had to incorporate the new branding and get the company’s message of ‘a smarter energy future for everyone’ across. The ‘Big & Bold’ design concept uses confident and eye-catching oversized letter forms and blocks of colour, which are presented in the form of signage and graphics on the walls of different spaces.

Rocket carried out a complete mechanical and electrical build, including the integration of HVAC systems into the BHS network & encapsulating everything from heating and lighting, to joinery and decoration. We installed some colourful bespoke shelving for a multimedia hub area, and also constructed four pods for private meetings, which house round tables, ergonomically designed chairs and technology for presentations.

There is a main exhibition area with projectors and seating for those important events and presentations.Modern carpet covers the floor throughout and spotlights on the warehouse ceiling illuminate every important section of the project, and the flexible breakout rooms are neutrally decorated and incorporate a big table to sit around, as well as some more inspirational graphics.

The old warehouse is now forgotten and in its place an instantly recognisable branded space that refreshes the work environment of British Gas staff, as well as clearly stating the company’s brand vision of leading the nation towards a smarter energy future.

This was a build for Rocket Projects for our design partners Platform.
